Wow, totally fell off the bandwagon there for a while. This last year has been challenging, exciting, busy, and absolutely fabulous.
Savanna completed preschool and will be attending Kindergarten starting August 30th. She is so excited! She loves to learn. She has started reading and is doing very well. She is so cute when she's sounding things out...she gives it her all. Sometimes she's way off on what the word actually is but it is hilarious what comes out of her mouth. She's a fun little girl and I love her to pieces. Her favorite things to do right now are singing and dancing. She's pretty sure she's going to be a rock star. That is, of course, after she's completed veterinary school and played professional hockey. She makes us play "So What" by Pink over and over again and she just belts it out. It is absolutely darling. She loves her friends, family, cousins, and grandparents. And of course, just like her dad, she's always up for anything. She's awesome with her brother and is pretty good at helping mom around the house (after a little coaxing.) She's had a rough year with her numerous UTI's and two kidney infections but I think we've got it under control and she's on her way to being free of them (I hope). She's been a trooper with all the tests and doctors appointments. She's such a sweet girl...always worried about other people's feelings. She is such a tender heart. Its funny to watch her with a group of kids; she's the little mother hen. One of my favorite things about her is her vocabulary. She uses some pretty big words and she uses them correctly. If you ask her what they mean she'll tell you exactly. I wonder if she'll grow up reading the dictionary like her mom??? Anyway, she's a very free spirit and we love her very much.
Gauge is growing so fast and moves even faster. By the time that kid goes to bed each night I am thoroughly exhausted. He is definitely a handful but oh so much fun. He's not walking yet but getting close. He hates falling so much that he just won't let go. He loves to dance, holler, smile, and stand on the seat of any vehicle and pretend to drive. He is a daddy's boy all the way...which sometimes makes it hard for mom. If dad is home and not paying attention to him he throws an absolute fit. I'm sure it makes dad feel very good, though. Gauge loves to play cars, go for walks (as long as you don't stop at all for any amount of time) and play outside. He's eaten so much dirt I'm sure he's got enough iron to last a lifetime...but whatta you do? He's not much of a snuggler and never has been so that's been hard for me. I love to snuggle with my babies. His first year has gone so fast. Its so fun yet sad at the same time. He's getting to be that age where I have to discipline him and it is so hard...he looks up at you with those big blue eyes and a great big grin; its hard not to smile or laugh. What am I gonna do if he keeps that up?
Both of our kids are pretty independent and know how they want things. They both let you know if you're not doing things the way they think you should. Gauge will beller at you and keep doing what he's doing and Savanna will tell you straight up thats not the way she's going to do it.
We just got back from a two day camp out with the Simons Crew. Both my kids were in heaven. There were tons of kids to play with and plenty of adults to shower them with attention. We had a lot of fun and it was great to see everyone.
I'm going to try and keep up on this blog...but am making no promises. I am rarely on the computer these days...but I'll give it my best.
Curtis and I are doing well; having a much better summer this year than last. No broken feet (yet anyway) and it will hopefully stay that way.
