Okay, so yesterday we watched a movie called "The Bucket List"; I have to admit that it wasn't my favorite show in the world (it hit a little too close to home for me), but some good did come out of it.
Morgan Freeman asked Jack Nicholson if he had found joy in his life. Then, he asked him if his life had brought joy to anyone else's life....it got me thinking. It is so easy to get bogged down with the everyday stresses of work, home, family, bills, etc. But, it would all be a little easier if we could find the joy in our lives.
Just simple things: sitting outside in the cool breeze, watching your kids play without a care in the world, watching a movie that makes you laugh till you pee, talking to a good friend on the phone, getting an email from someone you haven't talked to in a while...things like that.
When I leave this world, I want to go knowing that I actually enjoyed the time I spent here. I want to enjoy my experiences (good & bad) because they both bring something new into my life. And, I want people to be joyful around me. I want everyone to remember something about me that made them smile or made their day a little easier.
I know this is kind of a weird post (especially from me) but I haven't been able to stop thinking about this.
Find the JOY!!!!!

It is 1:30 in the morning and I couldn't sleep so I got up and read your blogpage. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your new way of thinking. "Men are that they might have joy". Life is amazing isn't it and we are so blessed. I enjoyed your pictures and quotes.
My dad used to wake us up in the morning when we slept in too late by saying over and over "Rise and shine glow and glimmer". Then he would open up the curtains and let the light shine in and say look at what a beautiful day it is (even if it wasn't). We moaned and groaned and acted like we hated it but I actually liked it. He always took time to look at the beautiful world around him. He would take the long road home from work to enjoy the winding mountain road near our home in California. We miss you - haven't seen you for awhile.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I totally agree! One of the ladies in church last week asked us to think about which commandment was the hardest one to live and my friend Joyce said hers was "to be of good cheer" I think that is a challenge for everyone, but reminders like you've given us help us to keep trying. I loved hearing Nancy's story about her Dad too, we all have so much to give each other! Love you!
